Help Center & FAQ

Welcome to the Lumsas Help Center. Find answers to common questions about our platform. We've divided this guide into sections for Learners and Creators.

For Learners

Account & Getting Started

Creating an account is simple and secure. We use Google OAuth, which means you just click the "Sign In" button and log in with your existing Google account. There are no new passwords to remember, and we never see your Google password.

Yes, signing up for a Lumsas account as a Learner is completely free. You only pay for the exams you choose to enroll in. Many Creators may also offer free exams!

Finding & Purchasing Exams

After logging in, you can use the search bar on your dashboard. You can search by the Creator's name, the YouTube video title, or the YouTube playlist title. If a Creator has created an exam for that content, it will appear in the search results.

If you can't find an exam, it means the Creator of that video has not created one on our platform yet. We recommend contacting the Creator on their YouTube channel or social media and letting them know you'd love for them to offer certified exams on Lumsas!

We use a secure third-party payment gateway (like Razorpay or Stripe) to handle all transactions. Once you click "Enroll," you will be guided through a secure checkout process where you can use various payment methods like credit/debit cards, UPI, or net banking, depending on your region.

Taking Exams

The passing score is set by the Creator for each individual exam. It is usually displayed on the exam enrollment page before you purchase. A common passing score is 70% or 80%, but it can vary.

Yes, most exams have a time limit. The time limit is set by the system at 45 seconds per question once you start the exam, a timer will be visible on your screen.

This also depends on the settings chosen by the Creator. Some exams may allow one or more retakes, while others may require you to re-purchase the exam to try again. This policy will be stated on the exam details page.

Certificates & Refunds

Instantly! As soon as you pass the exam, your verifiable certificate will be generated and available in your Learner Dashboard. You can download it as a PDF or share it directly to platforms like LinkedIn.

Our general policy is that all sales are final. However, we offer an exception for accidental purchases. If you have not started or attempted the exam, you can request a full refund within 12 hours of your purchase. Please see our full Cancellation & Refund Policy for details on how to submit a request.

For Creators

Account & Verification

We use the official Google OAuth 2.0 system. When you sign up as a Creator, we will ask you to log in with the Google account that manages your YouTube channel. This is a secure process handled by Google. You are simply giving us permission to confirm that you are the owner of the channel. We never see your password, and we only request the minimum permissions needed to verify your channel ownership.

This is our most important security feature. Verification is mandatory to protect your intellectual property. It ensures that only you, the actual owner of your YouTube channel, can create and sell exams based on your content. This prevents fraud and protects your revenue stream.

Creating Exams

For our AI to generate a high-quality exam, the YouTube video must have clear and accurate transcripts or captions. Auto-generated captions from YouTube work well if the audio is clear, but manually reviewed or uploaded captions are always better. If a video has no captions or very poor ones, the AI will not be able to create a relevant exam.

NO, as a startup we dont have that feature right now for constrains but yes we are likely to add it in future

Lumsas does not automatically detect changes to your YouTube video. If you update a video in a way that significantly changes its content, you should either:

1. Manually edit the corresponding exam questions in your Lumsas dashboard.
2. (Recommended) Re-process the video link to generate a new set of questions based on the updated transcript, and then publish this new version.

Payments & Revenue

You can securely add your bank account or other payout details in the "Payouts" or "Settings" section of your Creator Dashboard. All information is encrypted and handled in compliance with financial regulations.

We process Creator payouts on a monthly basis (e.g., Net-30, meaning you are paid 30 days after the end of the month in which you earned the revenue). Payouts are typically sent directly to your registered bank account. All details about revenue share and payout schedules are available in your Creator Agreement.
